Las Vegas-based Fashion Designer to Produce "Celebrating Nature", an Eco Fashion Show, Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, 6PM, Monday, February 11, 2008.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) January 30, 2008 -- Julia Szkiba O'Connor of Zoom Kitty Zoom Designs, will be producing "Celebrating Nature", an eco and compassionate fashion show, to take place during the Eco Trade Show on Monday, February 11, 2008, 6PM at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, Marco Polo/Galileo Ballrooms, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Szkiba O'Connor is a freelance fashion designer and graphic artist who specializes in eco-related and cruelty-free fashion designs for various clients nationwide. Current and past clients include Bacche children's apparel, B Green/Nature USA organic wear, the Disney Store, licensees for Warner Bros. and Universal Studios, . She also consults new and upcoming designers and fashion entrepreneurs giving them insight into the benefits of "going organic", as well as developing business strategies for clients eager to promote and produce products that are eco-friendly as well as helping them choose cruelty-free alternatives as well.

Szkiba O'Connor is also a Fashion Design Instructor at the International Academy of Design & Technology-Las Vegas (IADT), and will be utilizing her students to gain "real world" experience in fashion, compliments of Szkiba O'Connor's industry relationships. Newer students will work as fashion dressers and hair and make-up artists; while seniors will serve in leadership roles such as Fashion Director, Fashion Stylist, and Student Volunteer Manager. Under the guidance of Szkiba O'Connor's overall direction of the show, the students gain another opportunity to place on their resumes. Szkiba O'Connor conducts quarterly styling workshops and meetings for the students of IADT-Las Vegas, so that they have an idea of what the basic production of a fashion show entails.

Some of the exhibitors of the Eco Trade Show will feature their current collections on the runway; some of these are Small Axe Clothing, Earth Creations, Happy Bee, Bacche, Neuaura Shoes, and others.

IADT- Las Vegas Students will be showcasing original garment designs on the runway as well. Student designs were juried by IADT-Las Vegas instructors during the past few months as part of the qualification process to participate in the event. Because many of Szkiba O'Connor's industry connections include many cruelty-free and eco-friendly fashion companies, students have been giving an opportunity to develop a keen sense of their future in the fashion industry as future designers who are aware of the environmental benefits of organic fabric vs. conventional fabric and real leather vs. faux fabrics, etc. Most of the fabrics the students used were either donated from such companies as Green Textile from South Carolina, Sommers, Inc. of New Jersey or recycled from remnants, which otherwise would have been tossed into landfills.

"Celebrating Nature", the Eco Fashion Show and the Eco Trade Show (running February 11-14, 2008 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, Las Vegas) are open to the public. All guests must register online at www.GlobalEcoShow.com or on-site, beginning the morning of February 11th.
